According to the Teacher Wellbeing Index, 81% of education staff experience poor mental health due to their work and 46% say their organisations don’t provide enough support. With overwhelming workloads, disruptive classroom behaviour and a lack of support, many are choosing to vote with their feet – compounding the critical state of teacher supply and the substantial risk to education quality.
It’s no secret that when staff feel valued, empathised with and supported, they are more likely to find their work rewarding and stay longer term.
